Make an appointment
From April 4th 2011 we will be trialling a new appointment system where half the appointments each week will be released on a Monday 7 days in advance.
This is designed to help patients plan their healthcare but will be monitored as we currently have a problem with patients booking and then not attending appointments. Any increase in the rate of this non attendance will mean that we will have to return to releasing appointments only a day ahead .
All appointments can be booked by the reception team over the telephone between 8.30 am and 6pm but in addition appointments with the GPs can be booked, checked or cancelled at any time using our automated system and your telephone keypad. If you have access to the internet we also operate an internet booking system once you have been allocated a login details. If you persistently use this access to book appointments you then fail to attend the practice reserves the right to remove this service from you. https://SystmOnline.tpp-uk.com/Login?PracticeId=B82105
The telephones are at their busiest between 8.30 & 9.30am and 12.30 & 1.30pm. If your call is not urgent please try to avoid these times.
If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact the Medical Centre to cancel it so that we can offer it to another patient - significant numbers of appointments are wasted each month when patients fail to cancel.
You are registered with the practice and not an individual GP. You can, however, choose which GP you want to see when you make an appointment, subject to availaility. The exception to this are our Saturday morning appointments which are with an unnamed doctor.
We have a team of receptionists who are fully trained and do a difficult job well. Sometimes they may need to ask one or two questions to judge the urgency of your request but the information you give will always be treated in confidence as they are bound by the same code of conduct as the doctors.
